Shell Fest - the UK's Largest Single Parent Event |
Time: Full Weekend
Location: North Wales
Description: Bigger and better than ever, June 11th sees a repeat of our popular "Shell Fest", a festival exclusively for single parent families.
A beautiful location, surrounded by sand dunes and private beaches, there is also entertainment throughout the day on Saturday - live music, circus performers and workshops, african drumming and dance workshops, delicious hog roast and campfires. There's nothing quite like chatting to new friends by the campfire as the sun sets over the sea...
The cost (including entertainment!) is from £40 per family for the weekend, Friday to Sunday.
This event sold out early in previous years.

Information sessions for single parents |
Time: 10-12
Location: Vallance community centre, Conway Court, Sackville Road Hove
Description: SPIN (Single Parent Information Network) based in Brighton but with members all over Sussex are running their third free information course for single parents with sole or shared care of their children who would be unemployed at the time of the course. The course is run by volunteer single parents for single parents and childcare and travel expenses are provided. The course will cover family and parenting support; health issues; leisure; money; training; work; volunteering etc and participants will receive a £20 voucher on completion of 6 two hour sessions run every Tuesday morning from 15/06/10.

Picnic with SPIN (Single Parent Information Network) |
Time: 1230 - till early evening
Location: Preston Park, Brighton, East Sussex
Description: SPIN is a single parent organisation based in Brighton although we have members all over Sussex. There is a sports festival in Preston Park on this day and for the past two years, single parents and their children have brought along a picnic to share and make friends in the park. There are loads of events to watch or partiipate in for everyone and other parents who might watch you children for you to let you have a little time off!!!!

Location: New Forest, Hampshire
Description: Where else can you camp with ponies, horses and donkeys roaming freely amongst the tents?
One of our favourite sites, the New Forest is a lovely area of the country, with miles of ancient forest and quaint villages it's just perfect for those Enid Blyton type adventures.
We've a dedicated field for our group for our second visit to this site, a popular location for children and adults a like.
